A Waking Praryer

A Waking Praryer

June 30, 2026 · Pagan Prayers

Spirits of Earth, Gods and Goddesses fair,

As dawn’s gentle glow lays night’s shadows bare,

I rise in reverence, greeting the day,

Empowered by you, to keep evils at bay.

Odin, All-Father, wise and profound,

Offer me insight in lore that is found.

Lead me to knowledge and truths that I seek,

That I may ascend to wisdom’s high peak.

Hail to Sunna, whose radiant beams

Illuminate the land with life-giving gleams.

Stir warmth in my spirit — a beacon bright;

Guide me through trials with your golden light.

Freya, bold goddess of love and of war,

Awaken devotion within my spirit’s core.

Help me to greet each moment I face,

Handling conflict with honor and grace.

Thor, mighty Thunder, hammer in hand,

Protect me from storms that trouble the land.

Keep my spirit strong, steadfast and pure,

Lend me your might in each trial I endure.

Ancestors ancient, your voices I hear

In rustling leaves and streams running clear.

Stand by my side as I forge today’s path,

Lend strength and wisdom to weather life’s wrath.

Land spirits gracious, who dwell in each fen,

In forests and hills, in hollow and glen;

Bless all my footsteps as onward I roam,

That I may walk kindly in your sacred home.

With deep gratitude, I stand in the light,

Upheld by the gods in the fullness of might.

Strengthened by kin who have walked here before,

I hail this new day and what lies in store!
